Sustainable Communities
The Siskiyou Union High School District is in the process of developing a Magnet Schools - Magnet Communities Partnership. The purpose of the partnership is to bring our educational and community members together to support the sustainability of the high school programs in each of the communities that the Siskiyou Union High School District serves. By bringing our valuable resources together, we can build a Magnet Schools - Magnet Communities partnership that can accomplish the following outcomes:
- Build a foundation of community and school partnership and support that will foster the creation of innovative and relevant learning experiences for all students
- Build a foundation of community and school partnership that will support and foster necessary change in our teaching, learning, and assessment practices that will ensure our students are proficient with the necessary standards and skills to be successful in the 21st century
- Build a foundation of community and school partnership that will stimulate economic development and attract families to our communities
- Individual schools and communities identify and develop identities and vision
- Identify potential collaboration and project concepts to pilot during the 2011-12 school year
- Develop and foundation of knowledge and skills related to developing, delivering, and assessing effective projects
- Build a foundation of community and school partnership that will ensure a sustainable future for our schools and rural communities
